On 10 December 2009, Thursday, 4:00 pm in room 407 of the UG, there will be held a seminar “Numerical Analysis of Election Systems and Arrow Theorem”; Speaker: Associate Professor Merab Uridia. Election systems of various types will be discussed on the seminar and their elementary comparative analysis will be done; the Arrow Theorem will be formed. There will be presented the proof of its classical and immovable point’s existence.
On 3 December 2009, Thursday, 3:00 pm in room 407 auditorium of University of Georgia will be held the seminar on the topic “Centrosymmetric matrices of one type in eigenvalue problems” Speaker: Associated professor Liana Karalashvili. There is considered general form of the third order matrices, which are at the same time symmetric too and have such a property, that sum of elements in each row is the same number. The characteristic equation of such matrices is constructed in factorized form. All eigenvalues and eigenvectors are given in explicit form. Besides, such type of matrices has the same eigenvectors. There is constructed a matrix of spectral decomposition (its columns represent orthonormal eigenvectors of the initial matrix) and its inverse, which reduce the initial matrix to the diagonal matrix. It gives a possibility to evaluate any degree of the given matrix.
On 26 November 2009, Thursday, 3:00 pm, room 407 of the UG, there will be held a seminar on the topic “Land and Other Real Estate Information Systems”; Speaker: Professor Sergo Tsiramua.
There will be presented information about one of the first successful projects implemented by “World Bank”, the main aim of which was the development of the real estate market in Georgia. The project was carried out by using modern information technologies, in particular by using database management and Geo Information systems. Therefore, participation at the seminar will be interesting for the students of Computer Technologies.
