History

The School of Law was founded in 2005, when the courses of The History of Law in USA, and Comparative Theory of Justice of American and European Systems were established in the then GUSS. From February 2006, the School started its educational process by Masters Programs, and since Sept. 2006 – Bachelors Program was added. Since 2007, the Doctorate Program also functions here, as well as the High Professional Educational program.

Mission

The mission of the School of Law is to accumulate, preserve, multiply and distribute those intellectual, scientific, moral and cultural values that are crucial for responding personal and social needs necessary for the progress of the Georgian State.

Goal

The goal of the School of Law is to bring up highly qualified specialists in the sphere of Law; establish high standards of education and according to the demands, perpetually develop educational programs, make student acquainted with experience of leading Georgian and foreign juridical centers; assist our graduates in realization of their knowledge in the labor market.

For this, the School of Law establishes contacts with leading educational institutions in Georgia and abroad; collaborates with various-level governmental bodies in Georgia; invites best specialists for lecturing; guarantees comfortable educational environment using most developed methods of teaching; assists and aids students in their initiatives.

Resources

Our School gives you the chance to get perfect legal education. We present all four stages of education presumed by the Georgian legislation. The Credit Transferring and Accumulating European System (ECTS) also functions here, and educational process is oriented on students and based on his/her permanent academic performance.

Lecturers in our school have graduated from best universities of Europe, such as: Mr. Merab Turava, Mrs. Ana Pirtskhalashvili, Mrs. Mariam Tsiskadze, etc. Our classrooms are equipped with most advanced technological devices; our library is well rich of juridical literature – both electronic and in print; computer classes equipped with 24-hour internet with special legal act searching system – all this is a calling card of our School and kind of guarantee for your success.


Educational process comprises of intensive course in English – especially of legalese language, thus helping our students to participate in our exchange programs with foreign universities. We hope to make you competitive in working in any firm/company abroad.

Those interested in researches, we provide with assistance of professional tutors, and sometimes, even special visits to foreign universities. Our own printing house gives you a good chance to publish your scientific research items.

Students of the School of Law actively participate in local conferences, competitions, and Olympics. We have our own winners too: ‘Organized Crime and Corruption in Georgia’ in ’TraCCC-CO George Mason University financed and aided competition.

Management of the School of Law is based on the principles of modern management, which implies firstly high-standard service for students, their admittance to the all-necessary information, cordial relationship among students and administration, and creating the atmosphere of freedom and tolerance.

UG aims at both physical and educational practice with its students. We have one of the best sport arena and you are always welcome there.
