TEMPUS Project “Master Programes in Public Health and Social Services” international scientific conference “Public Health and Social Services: Education and Practice”   held in Tbilisi, Georgia on June 27, 2012 in Vera palace Hotel Conference Hall. The conference was the forum in which leaders, academics, policy makers and clinicians shared their experiences and best practices in public health and social services, discussed the ways of elaboration of integrated curriculum in public health and social services and program quality assurance.

Conference was organized in partnership with:

  • University of Georgia
  • Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University
  • National TEMPUS Office Georgia
  • National Center for Disease Control and Public Health

The “Public Health and Social Services: Education and Practice” event to mark was introduced Prof. Otar Vasadze, Head of conference scientific committee. Otar Toidze, Chairman of the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee at the Parliament of Georgia warmly welcomed project partners to Tbilisi and to the intermediate international conference, after were followed salutation of Alexander Kvitashvili, Rector of TSU, Konstantin Topuria, Chancellor of UG and Vincent O’Brien – TEMPUS project coordinator. Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science Nino Svanidze and Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs Nino Mirzikashvili and NTO Georgia Lika Glonti welcomed conference participants and overviewed the importance of the fields.

On the plenary sessions participants presented presentations about challenges in the Public health and Social Services direction and held discussion.
