  Students og Politics and International Reltions at Model OSCE Conference | 26/09/2008  
On July 4-7 2008 Students from the University of Georgia participated in Model OSCE conference together with different delegations of European states. Model OSCE was held in Vienna, Austria for the first time in history. Participants from 30 member states represented states different from their origin countries. Georgian delegation successfully represented Spain and Georgia was represented by Ireland. Georgian delegation was represented by students of School of Politics and International Relations, Salome Alania, Nino Khelaia and Saba Gvetadze. Delegation members included the Dean of School of Politics and International Relations of the University of Georgia, Kornely K. Kakachia and the staff member of OSCE mission to Georgia, Mrs.Alla Babunashvili.

  UG Student at the 22nd DEMYC CONGRESS | 19/04/2008  

The School of Politics and International Relations is glad to inform that the MA student of international relations program, Ana Akhalaia participated in 22nd DEMYC CONGRESS on 3-6 APRIL 2008, which was held in Athens, Greece. At the congress Ana represented Conservative Union of Georgian Youth –CUGY. She had an opportunity along with other delegates to meet Mrs Dora Bakogianni, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece and Mr. Evaggelos Meimarakis, Minister of Defence.

  Ronald Mangum at University of Georgia | 15/04/2008  
On April 9, the visitor of the University of Georgia was General Ronald Mangum. The topic of the lecture was Bucharest Summit and prospects for Georgia. The guest speaker discussed NATO, issues the organization is facing currently, NATO’s role and relevance in today’s world, the progress Georgia has achieved in the military sphere but General Mangum emphasized that much more is to be done in judiciary, elections and in relation with Russia. The latter being a sensitive issue which does not need emotional and radical reactions from the Georgian side.
